Since this was a Daedra’s quest, I was ready for anything. So, I equiped my best armor, I maxed my elemental resistances and then I stormed the cave, with great confidence in my abilities.
After loading the autosave, I disposed of the vampires silently, one by one and went to have a chat with Clavicus Vile.
He wasn’t very grateful for returning his lost puppy, so he sent me to retrieve an axe for him, from the opposite end of the map. And then he asked me to murder his puppy with that axe. Obviously, I refused.
For being a dog lover and a generally nice guy, I was rewarded with an awesome daedric artifact, the Masque of Clavicus Vile:
Now that I was done with a dog chasing me everywhere, I could finally focus on my initial quest (the one with the ghost deer).
So, now I’m off to kill the guy I initially offered to help. This was not exactly a decent thing to do, especially since he seemed like a nice guy.
But after talking to him, I was indeed convinced he was a nice guy. Killing him did not seem the right thing to do. Instead, I helped him get rid of some nasty hunters, who were probably after him for the same reason I was.
By now I was expecting Hircine to be really pissed off. Not knowing how an angry god would react, I prepared myself for a big fight.
To my surprise, I was actually rewarded for helping the werewolf guy, instead of killing him. I received another daedric artifact, the Ring of Hircine:
Yep, this was a good day for treasure hunting in Skyrim!
