Best weapon in Skyrim – final version

I mentioned before that the best weapon in Skyrim is actually a player crafted weapon. But back then, I didn’t have all the skills needed to create the most powerful version of this weapon.

Since the first version was created, I leveled up quite a bit and I managed to max out the skills needed to truly craft the most powerful weapon in Skyrim. I call it DEATH, since that’s pretty much the only thing it’s good for.

And just like I said before, anyone can make such a weapon. No mods and no cheats, just the right skills, perks and materials.

How to create the BEST weapon in Skyrim:

First, you need to max out the following skills (reach level 100) and learn the appropriate skill perks:

- Alchemy: Alchemist, Physician, Benefactor;

- Smithing: Steel Smithing, Arcane Blacksmith, Dwarven Smithing, Orcish Smithing, Ebony Smithing, Daedric Smithing;

- Enchanting: Enchanter (5/5), Insightful Enchanter, Fire Enchanter, Frost Enchanter, Storm Enchanter, Extra Effect.

Second, you’ll need the right equipment, materials and ingredients. These are as follows:

- a set of alchemy apparel (clothes or armor of any kind): hat (or helmet), gloves (or bracers), necklace and ring;

- a set of smithing apparel (clothes or armor of any kind): clothes (or armor), gloves (or bracers), necklace and ring;

- grand soul gems, ebony ingots, Daedra hearts, alchemy ingredients with Fortify Enchanting (Blue Butterfly Wings, Hagraven’s Claws, Snowberries, Spriggan sap) and Fortify Smithing (Blisterwort, Glowing Mushrooms, Sabre Cat Tooth, Spriggan Sap);

- you’ll also need to learn the enchantments for your weapons (like Fire Damage, Storm Damage, Frost Damage) and for your armor (like Fortify Alchemy, Fortify Smithing, Fortify Heavy/Light Armor, Fortify One-handed/Two-handed).

Now that you have all the items you need, you’re ready to start crafting. Here’s what you have to do, step by step:

1. Go to an Alchemy Lab and create 4 Fortify Enchanting potions.

2. Go to an Arcane Enchanter and make a set of alchemy apparel by enchanting: hat (or helmet), gloves (or bracers), necklace and ring with Fortify Alchemy and grand soul gems. Remember to drink a Fortify Enchanting potion before creating each item, so that the enchantment will be stronger.

3. Equip the set of alchemy apparel and create 4 stronger Fortify Enchanting potions and then use them to create a more powerful set of alchemy apparel.

4. Repeat steps 1-3 about 2 times until you reach the maximum potency for the set of alchemy apparel.

5. Equip your most powerful set of alchemy apparel to brew the strongest batch of Fortify Enchanting and Fortify Smithing potions.

6. Go to an Arcane Enchanter and make a set of smithing apparel by enchanting: clothes (or armor), gloves (or bracers), necklace and ring with Fortify Smithing and grand soul gems. Again, remember to drink a Fortify Enchanting potion before creating each item, so that the enchantment will be stronger.

7. Go to a Forge or an Anvil and create your Daedric weapons and armor, using the ebony ingots and Daedra hearts.

8. Go near a Grindstone or a Workbench. Equip your set of smithing apparel and drink a Fortify Smithing potion. Use the Grindstone to improve your weapons or the Workbench to improve your armor.

9. Go to an Arcane Enchanter and enchant your weapons and armor with the enchantments you want. Don’t forget to drink a Fortify Enchanting potion before enchanting each item.

To get the highest damage output from your weapons, you’ll also need to enchant your armor pieces and some jewelery, so that they enhance your weapon skill (Fortify One-handed/Two-handed)

This also applies if you want the get the highest armor rating from your armor, by enhancing your armor skill (Fortify Heavy/Light Armor).

Note: The Notched Pickaxe is a unique artifact that Raises the wielder’s Smithing abilities. However, it doesn’t seem to help improve your gear any further, so you don’t really need it in order to make the best weapon and the best armor in the game.

Note: While experimenting with various skill fortifying potions,  I’ve came across a way to improve your equipment even further by using Fortify Restoration potions. However, this seems to be a bug, since it will irreversibly break the skills and will crash the game when used too many times. So, DO NOT USE Fortify Restoration potions with Alchemy and Enchanting.

    It may be possible to get higher values with the DLCs or with the Legendary difficulty setting.
    I don’t have any of the DLCs yet, but I’m planning to get them sometime soon (I heard they’re really good :) )

    The easiest way is to level up your character to level 15 then go to the Septimus Signus’s Outpost located above the Collage Of Winterhold and do the quest Discerning The Transmundane and get the book Oghma Infinium ( You will need to be level 15 or higher to do this quest) Find a book shelf and store the book in the book shelf and then took it out and read it and place it back in the book shelf again. Try saving before doing this glitch. If you done it wrong, the book will be destroy. If you do it right, you will be able to level up your character to the max of level 81 and all your skill peaks will be level up to 100 at the early stages of the game and you will be able to smith all the best weapons and armors!!!! That is what I do…..have fun!!!

    My sword is better it is 721 damage and 90 fire and frost damage.

    You don’t have to drink fortify enchantment before enchanting EACH weapon. You can get three or four enchantments in with one potion (30 seconds). Using a potion for each weapon is wasteful and does NOT make the enchantment any stronger.

    My previous comment: also helps if you have maked enchanting and alchemy but if you can make potions and get enchantments it only mean youl have to it more times than a maxed. all ingridients can be found in the lake next to riften with the beehive place in the middle(where you do thieves guild quest)

    There is a more cost efficient way to make even more powerfull items. All you need is ingridiets to make fortify restoration potions, a set of alchemy enchancing gea(i’m not good at writing english), and a ring with NO enchantments. To get super gear faster you should have ingridients for a fortify enchanting potion. First equip your enchanted gear. Then go into the alchemy lab and make a single fortify restoration potion. then exit the alchemy lab and go to your inventory. Drink the potion and without exiting your inventory, re-equip your alchemy enchacing gear. Repeat this until you have INSANE percentages(like 100m) if you start getting negative numbers DO NOT DRINK THE POTIONS. they will crash your game. Then make a single fortify enchanting potion. You should have insane numbers on this aswell or it has not worked properly. Then drink the potion. THE FIRST THING YOU SHOULD DO is to enchatnt the unenchanted ring with fortify alchemy to eliminate need to this for the future. Then enchant your gear. be weary, because the effects wear off. when you start seeing normal numbers, re equip your gear AND put on the super enchanted ring. Make another fortify enchanting potion and keep enchanting. hope this helps. found this from a wep page but i dont remember name:( looking for it

    I like the idea behind this. I am a new player and I have been messing around a bit with this type of stuff. I managed to make a Daedric Warhammer (Legendary) with 134 damage. I enchanted it so it absorbs 127,792 points of health with with every strike and if the enemy dies within 63,896 seconds it fills a soul gem. The value of this warhammer is 13,605,398. I even have a picture to prove it!!!

    Thanks for this. I actually was searching for different info and this not only answered my question, it also answered questions that I didn’t even know to ask! (I just started playing Skyrim.)

    The ebony blade!!!!!!!!! no one has ever even mentioned it. go to whiterun, find rumors, and talk to the king person about his strange son! It drains the enemies health and never needs to be charged. You WILL LITERALLY BE INVINCIBLE. I haven’t died in the past 3 months.

    a ‘grimsever’ is better than chillrend. 15 ice points. get it from a dwemer falmer place. it has a big dwemer boss though. its on the side next to him. mzinchaleft is the place. i made a video on youtube

  13. rob says:

    theres a place where theres a giaint club. you cant pick it up, but… a companion (helper) can! it does 108 damage! (on my game)

  14. IplaySkyrimAllDayEveryDay says:

    Confirmed that this works, though just a little disagreement with the Enchanting perks. Left path (shock, fire, frost) is really not required, heck, I even suggest going to the middle path so your health, stam, and magicka enchants are stronger. Best enchant for your weapon as a meleer is no enchant at all, since Elemental Fury beats any enchant you could put on a weapon. But anyway, thanks again for the find, have 1100 attack power as a dualwield with Elemental Fury, killing Ancient / Elder dragons on Master mode in 3 seconds flat. People take alchemy for granted, I know I did…and look at what it can do…

  15. I am not certain the place you are getting your information, but good topic. I must spend some time studying more or understanding more. Thank you for magnificent information I used to be on the lookout for this info for my mission.

  18. Wow! i never knew you could do this thanks! i love one hit kills this will really help. Thanks.

  19. eli says:

    i think your glitch is really helpful for deadric quests
    and mages quests

  20. Ian says:

    This trick will get bow damage up to 736 (Though only if using a falmer helmet/circlet combo for archery damage enchants. (and a two handed mace can hit for 703.

  21. Corpsey says:

    I’m pretty much doing this with a bow.. so I’ll have similar damages with a ranged attack :) I love alchemy.

  22. Shit fart says:

    Most tards that play this game think the chillrend is the best weapon but you oviosly beat it by a mile. I new u could do things like what you were doing to max out weapons but not like this so thanks for the help
